American University Park (AU Park)

A neighborhood named for its proximity to American University, AU Park boasts the Tenleytown metro, a Whole Foods, a variety of shops and restaurants, and single-family homes. Its draw is good schools, a strong sense of neighborhood, and easy access to downtown Washington via Wisconsin Ave. Situated between the Cleveland Park and Chevy Chase, AU Park was one of the first neighborhoods developed in the 1930s intended for car owners.
